The association
PRO MONETA
Why the name Pro Moneta?
Moneta was originally the name of a Roman goddess associated with Juno. In Rome, she had her temple on the Capitol next to the one dedicated to Jupiter. The goddess was then given
the name “Juno Moneta”, meaning the warner and adviser.
It was not until much later that the Romans minted their first “monnaies” (coins) in this place of worship, a French term that has lost the original meaning of its Latin origin, “Moneta”.
As our mission is to warn and advise in our various missions, this dual reference to ancient roots and particular virtues is perfectly in line with the association’s objectives and justifies its name.
Pro Moneta prefers discretion to ostentation, efficiency to inertia.
